On Tuesday January 20, 2009, “A man whose father less than 60 years ago might not have been served at a local restaurant can now stand before you to take a most sacred oath”. An African American who took the highest leadership in the nation was sworn in to the White House. Millions of people gathered in downtown Washington DC, to see Martin Luther King’s dream fulfilled. Many people see an African American in office and they listen to his remarkable, outstanding, phenomenal speech and think because he promotes change that a change will happen the next day. That’s not the case- a change won't happen tomorrow, a few months, not even a year or two, but he promised America there would be a change. Upset Republicans left town, or some were mature and are going to give President Elect Barack Obama the benefit of the doubt. As seen many Americans wave to the old, and stood for the new that believe in change.
Congratulations Barack and Michelle Obama!!

Hip Hip Hooray for Barack Obama! Many Americans are not only excited because he is black, but because he believes in "transparent" administration. The Bush regime was full of corruption, promoted government privacy, and withdrew regulations on private institutions. Obama, on the other hand, will and must expand the government and is someone we the American people trust to be ethical and empathetic, always thinking of the citizens. No, he probably won't be a perfect President, but the quality of his governance will surpass that of President Bush by a long mile.
Well said Jaren. Transparency is the only way to establish trust. I think it will take Obama at least a year to prove he is capable of truly changing "old politics" but I think he will convert the synics in the end. As far as the Bush administration goes, I trusted Bush about as much as one of those magic 8 balls. (No offense to the magic 8 ball of course.)
Where are all my peoples at!? Can I get a post up in here? Thoughts on Jasmine's cool post, original thoughts of your own, what you had for breakfast? Lets hear from our interns!
